After contacting a company I was told that I was not eligable as I planned to sell my house in a few years,as it is much too big .Is this correct

Selling your property in the future would not exclude you from being viable for an equity release plan, however this would need to be discussed further in view of the possible early redemption penalties that some of the equity release plans have, this all depends on what plan you are recommended.
