My wife is not yet 55, I am over. When do we start the process. Can it be started early in anticipation of the 55th birthday or do we have to wait until the 55th has arrived?
Some lenders will allow you to submit an application in anticipation of the youngest homeowners next birthday. However, this is subject to each individual lender's policy on the matter, and because of this it may restrict the choice of plans available to you. Of course, it may well be that the most appropriate plan for you does allow early application so you may not lose out. You're best suited to speak to a qualified advisor who will be able to discuss this with you based on your own circumstances and any other preferences you may have.
I hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
